The Evolution Of Transmission Oil Changes
The Old 50/50 Method
The easiest way many workshop follow is to drain half the transmission oil and then refill with new oil. This is the cheapest method available but is the lowest quality solution you can find and will not provide good performance long-term

- New oil mixes with the old and quickly gets dirty
- Very low quality service
The Flushing Method
This a very common method where half the gear oil is drained and then more new oil is poured in than is needed which partially flushes out some of the old bad oil. The result is a medium quality service with many problems.
