Symptoms and effects of unchanged oil

Car repair can be expensive, and it’s often tempting to skip regular maintenance like oil changes. But skipping maintenance can backfire and cause more expensive repairs down the road.

How oil works:

Oil lubricates the moving parts of an engine, helping the car run smoothly. It also picks up dirt, grime and other particles that can eventually clog up the engine. These contaminants must be removed from the oil periodically to keep the engine running properly.

Changing your oil:

Oil is typically changed via a drain plug at the lowest part of a car’s oil pan — a large metal container at the bottom of many engines (not every car has one). The pan contains a small amount of oil that’s drained into a container, which is then replaced with a fresh supply of motor oil.

Occasionally, vehicles have recessed plugs that are difficult to reach. Some older cars require dropping the oil pan to change the filter, while newer cars have filters that screw on and off fairly easily.

How Often Do I Need To Change The Engine Oil Of An Audi A4 TFSI?

Oil is the lifeblood of your engine, keeping it clean and lubricated. Without it, your car will seize up and die.

There are a few reasons why you need to change the oil in your car:

It becomes contaminated with dirt and debris.

It breaks down over time.

If you don’t change your car’s oil regularly, it won’t be able to do its job properly. The oil will break down and become contaminated with various substances such as dirt, dust and metal shavings that could cause significant damage to your engine if left unchecked.

By changing your oil regularly, you can ensure that these contaminants stay out of your engine, prolonging its life by years.

Our Audi A4 oil change kit includes all necessary products and starts at around 80EUR/Pounds. The kit includes the necessary amount of Liqui moly Leichtlauf 5W-40 oil, a new Mahle OX 1217 D OEM Oil Filter, and the oil filter housing cap seals.

The premium kit includes the Liqui Moly Engine Flush, motor oil saver and Liqui Moly Cera tec.

Most vehicles will have an orange oil change light on the dashboard that lights up when a vehicle is due for an oil change. The service reminder indicator will light up in a certain number of miles or months, depending on the manufacturer.

Of course, it is important to remember that it is not the oil that needs to be changed, but the oil filter. Oil filters serve as the barrier between your engine and contaminants, including particulates from the air, gasoline, water and other fluids that can enter your engine through normal operation.

There are generally two types of oil filters: spin-on and cartridge-type. Spin-on filters are most common and are fitted with a check valve that allows for excess oil to drain back into the oil pan during cold starts when the engine is at low pressure. Cartridge filters do not have this check valve, so a bypass valve is required in order to drain excess oil back into the pan.

Most vehicles will require specific types of oil filters; they should not be interchangeable between different makes and models. In order to find out what type of filter your car requires, refer to your owner’s manual or contact a certified mechanic.

Steps Required To Complete An Audi A4

Step 1 (optional): Clean the engine

If the vehicle is still running, it is best to clean the engine using a hot wash. If this is not possible, the engine must be warmed up for at least 15 minutes (but without exceeding an intake temperature of 85 °C). This ensures that oil residue and dirt particles have become soft.

If a lot of grease and oil have accumulated in the engine bay, you should use Liqui Moly MoS2 Anti-Friction Engine Treatment. This product makes oil residue and dirt particles easy to remove. Simply spray on and wipe off with a cloth.

To clean your engine, we recommend Liqui Moly Engine Cleaner. This product emulsifies and dissolves oil residues, fats and dirt particles. Spray it on the entire surface of your engine compartment and allow it to take effect for several minutes. Then rinse off the remains with water (from above) or just let them drip off in case you will be working on hot parts.

Step 2: Change the oil filter

Use a socket wrench to remove the oil drain plug. Place a pan under the oil pan to catch the oil as it drains out.

Lift up the hood of your vehicle and locate the oil cap. Remove the oil cap and set it aside in a safe place where you will not forget where you put it. Doing this helps release any pressure that may be built up inside of your engine and can help prevent an accident from occurring when you remove the drain plug.

Use an oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter from your Audi A4’s engine. Clean off any dirt, debris or grime from around the filter housing with a cloth or paper towel. Place a pan beneath the location of your filter housing to catch any remaining oil as it drains out once you remove the filter housing.

Carefully unscrew the filter housing by hand. Once unfastened, pull down on it gently until it comes free from your Audi A4’s engine block. Wipe away any spills or excess oil with a cloth or paper towel.

Step 3: Drain the oil

Jack up the front of the car, slide the jack stands under the jack points and lower the car down on them.

Using a 17mm socket, remove the oil drain bolt and let the oil drain into your pan.

Remove the filter cap. You can use a small pry bar or screwdriver to do this.

Once all of the oil has drained out, reinstall the drain bolt and torque it to 25ft/lbs with a torque wrench.

Reinstall new filter and tighten until you feel resistance then turn 1/4 turn more.

Pour in 6qt of Liqui moly Leichtlauf 5W-40 oil, replace cap, start engine and let run for 30 seconds, check for leaks and then shut off engine. Check oil level using MMI system or dipstick (if so equipped)

Step 4 (optional): Fill the ceramic coating additive and Motor Oil Saver.

Liqui Moly Cera Tec additive and Liqui Moly Motor Oil Saver.

It is a ceramic-based engine oil additive that reduces friction, wear and tear and extends the life of engine oil.

The product mixes with all types of oils, including synthetic oils, and is compatible with catalytic converters.

Regular use of Liqui Moly Cera Tec additive reduces consumption of motor oil, which means less frequent oil changes. In addition, the product saves fuel by reducing friction between engine components.

Liqui Moly Cera Tec additive comes in 50 ml packaging and is suitable for engines up to 5 liters.

In the case of larger engines, it is necessary to use two bottles at the same time.
